Verrucous carcinoma arising within syringocystadenoma papilliferum.
Syringocystadenoma papilliferum (SP) commonly arises in conjunction with nevus sebaceous. Other less common lesions reported with SP include apocrine adenoma, condyloma acuminatum, hidradenoma papilliferum associated with hidrocystoma, poroma folliculare, and a single case ofverrucous carcinoma. We report the second case of verrucous carcinoma in conjunction with SP.
متن کاملSquamous cell carcinoma arising from long-standing perianal fistula.
Perianal fistula is a very common problem in general population. Ninety percent of perianal fistulae arise from infected anal glands, and they often give rise to perianal abscesses. Very rarely perianal fistulae and abscesses undergo malignant transformation and give rise to carcinomas, mainly adenocarcinomas. We are reporting a case of squamous cell carcinoma arising from long-standing periana...
متن کاملSquamous cell carcinoma arising in a multiple verrucous epidermal nevus*
Verrucous epidermal nevi are hamartomatous lesions of the epidermis that, unlike other epidermal nevi (such as sebaceous nevus or nevus comedonicus), are rarely associated with malignant neoplasms. The majority of squamous cell carcinoma develop in linear or multiple epidermal nevus and rarely in solitary epidermal nevus. In general, the prognosis is favorable. We report a case of well-differen...
متن کاملPoorly differentiated (insular) thyroid carcinoma arising in a long-standing colloid goitre: A cytological dilemma
Poorly differentiated (insular) thyroid carcinoma (PDITC) is an uncommon thyroglobulin producing neoplasm intermediate in aggressiveness between well-differentiated carcinomas of follicular cell origin and undifferentiated anaplastic carcinoma. Its cytomorphological recognition is essential for planning surgery and subsequent management as it is known for its aggressive behavior, advanced stage...
متن کاملPrimary Cutaneous Melanoma Arising in a Long-Standing Irradiated Keloid
Ionizing radiation has been used therapeutically for a variety of clinical conditions, including treatment of hypertrophic keloids. Keloids may rarely be associated with malignancy, but the use of low-dose ionizing radiation is associated with an increased risk of cutaneous malignancies. We describe a case in which a primary desmoplastic melanoma arose in a long-standing, previously irradiated ...
